Brisbane

Today we arrived in Brisbane, capital of Queensland. It was so easy to get around and we had a great day despite some heavy rain. From the port it was a short walk to Brett's Wharf where we caught the City Cat into the CBD. It took about 45 minutes, cost $5.80 one way and was a very pleasant way to arrive in Brisbane.

We got out at Southbank and explored the area. We had tea in a beaker at a cafe for university students. So trendy!

We visited the Queensland Art Gallery and the Queensland Museum for free.

The museum in particular was excellent - very modern with interesting interactive exhibits. We saw turtles hatching and explored many interactive activities in the Discovery Centre.

Lunch in the cafe was also tasty and not too expensive. We sampled Brisbane breakfast tea - seemed appropriate! It was very enjoyable.

All in all a great day out.
