Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is very beautiful and picturesque. Everywhere you look is another amazing vista. We had a warm sunny day - very humid. You can tour the Great Barrier Reef from here but we're waiting until Port Douglas.

We caught the ship's tender into Abell Point Marina. There were lovely locals waiting to greet us and help direct us to the town. You could walk but we caught a shuttle bus into town as it was very hot.

There were Sunday markets at the end of town where the bus dropped us off. We enjoyed wandering and did some shopping. We considered doing a Jet Ski tour around the marina which looked like a lot of fun, but I was a bit worried about my back. It would've been awful to injure it now at the start of our holiday before I saw the Great Barrier Reef!
